All graduating seniors are expected to attend Senior Breakfast at 8:30 am on Friday, June 5th in the SHS Commons. Unfortunately, due to limited seating, we cannot accommodate families and friends at this event.

The menu will include:   oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage; pastry bar: assorted pastries; parfait bar: vanilla yogurt, granola, strawberries, bananas, blackberries, blueberries; fresh fruit: strawberries, bananas, melons, additional seasonal fresh fruit options as available; and beverages: apple juice, orange juice, and milk. Breakfast will be provided at no cost.

The Graduation Ceremony rehearsal will begin promptly at 10:00 am in the East Gym, immediately following the Senior Breakfast. The rehearsal will conclude once all preparations are complete and typically lasts 2 to 4 hours to ensure everything is ready for the big moment.

Graduates should bring water, a snack, and sunscreen, as portions of the rehearsal will take place outdoors. Caps and gowns are not required for rehearsal.

Essential Reminders for Graduating Seniors:

  • Arrive in the East Gym no later than 6:30 pm.
  • Park in the student lot on 7th Street.
  • Come dressed in your cap and gown. You’re welcome to decorate your cap, but keep in mind that decorations must be school appropriate, in good taste, and should not extend above the surface of the cap.
  • Wear comfortable shoes. Please avoid wearing spike or stiletto high heels because they will damage the surface of our  track and gym floor.
  • Immediately following the ceremony, graduates can pick up their diplomas in the East Gym.

Additional Information:

  • Each graduating senior will receive 10 guest tickets for the ceremony at Silke Field. In the event the ceremony is moved indoors due to inclement weather, each senior will receive 7 guest tickets. Guests ages 3 and older will require a ticket to attend.
  • Starting Monday, June 1st, graduating seniors must return all library books, textbooks, and any school-issued technology they are no longer using to the SHS Library. Any fines for lost or damaged items must also be paid at that time.
    • ✅ These steps must be completed to receive your graduation ceremony guest tickets. If you’re unsure what needs to be returned or paid, please see Ms. Schneider in the library for assistance.
  • SPS Google accounts will be deactivated after Monday, August 3rd. Please make sure to save or back up any files you wish to keep before that date.
  • For graduates who wish to keep any Google Docs or emails from their SPS account, we recommend following this process: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6386856

Information for Guests:

  • Silke Field will open for guests with tickets at 6:45 pm.
  • Please refrain from bringing balloons of any kind. At past ceremonies at Silke, helium balloons have escaped and caused explosions when they came into contact with power lines.
  • There will be a designated area for ADA guests, along with space for one accompanying attendant.
  • All guests, including young children, are expected to remain seated throughout the ceremony; especially while graduate names are being announced.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Springfield High School. Let’s finish strong and celebrate an outstanding graduation together!

Sincerely,

Principal da Silva
