Education Making a Difference in our Community
The Springfield High School Automotive Technology Program has been working on a special project: "Operation Rolling Thunder: Students Supporting Veterans." The project, funded by a Community Impact grant awarded by Harbor Freight Tools for Schools, provides transportation to veterans impacted by the Holiday Farm Fire.
Recently, the program proudly presented a 2002 Toyota Highlander to the project's first recipient, U.S. Army veteran Loran Taylor. SHS Automotive has connected with McKenzie Valley Long Term Recovery Group to identify veterans who lack transportation due to the fire.
