Celebrating Excellence: SHS Hosts Its First Student of the Quarter Breakfast
Betsy Johnson

Springfield High School proudly celebrated its first-ever Student of the Quarter recognition breakfast on December 4, bringing together students, teachers, administrators, and members of the PBIS Committee to honor what makes our school community truly shine—our SHARP values: Self-Aware, Honest, Accountable, Respectful, and Persistent.

For this inaugural event, each teacher nominated one student who exemplified SHARP values in meaningful and consistent ways. Whether through academic perseverance, positive citizenship, personal growth, or quiet leadership, these students stood out for modeling the character and work ethic we strive to cultivate in every Miller.

During the breakfast celebration, nominees were welcomed into the library for donuts, certificates, and words of appreciation from staff. Administrators and PBIS team members expressed their pride in the students’ dedication and highlighted how their daily actions strengthen the culture of SHS. Many teachers shared sentiments about why they selected their nominees, emphasizing kindness, resilience, responsibility, and a commitment to learning.

This new tradition supports Springfield High School’s ongoing PBIS work and reinforces our belief that recognizing positive behaviors matters. Celebrating students for showing up SHARP not only honors their individual contributions but also inspires classmates to lead with the same integrity and effort.

Congratulations to all our Student of the Quarter honorees! We look forward to continuing this tradition each quarter and celebrating even more of the incredible students who make SHS a great place to learn and grow.
