AP Testing This Week at SHS: What Students and Staff Need to Know
Betsy Johnson

It’s officially AP testing season at Springfield High School! Starting this week, students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses will begin taking their AP Exams—a culmination of months of rigorous coursework, critical thinking, and preparation.

Testing will take place in the Library, which will be closed to all other students during test times. To help create a quiet, focused environment, school bells will be turned off on testing days.

AP Testing Schedule – Week of May 5

  • Wednesday, May 7

    • 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM: AP English Literature and Composition

  • Friday, May 9

    • 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM: AP U.S. History

    • 12:00 PM – End of Day: AP Macroeconomics

Students should arrive 15 minutes early and bring:

  • A photo ID

  • Pencils and blue or black pens

  • An approved calculator (if applicable to their exam)

  • No phones, smartwatches, or electronic devices are allowed during testing

Staff are encouraged to support test-takers by being flexible with absences and offering encouragement. These exams are a chance for students to earn college credit and showcase their hard work.

Let’s all do our part to help create a calm, supportive atmosphere as our AP students show what they’ve learned this year. Good luck to all testers—you’ve got this!
