On October 28, Springfield High School will host district-wide ACT testing for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders. Seniors will take part in college field trips, exploring postsecondary opportunities and next steps for their future plans.

Springfield elementary students banded together to honor honor Ruby Bridges, the girl who became the first Black child to attend a formerly all-white public elementary school in New Orleans, Louisiana.

At the end of the 2024–25 school year, Springfield Public Schools (SPS) and other districts insured through Property and Casualty Coverage for Education (PACE) were notified of changes to property insurance coverage for buildings more than 50 years old that use engineered wood trusses (such as bowstring or glue-lam trusses).
