Springfield High School Breaks Library Record as Reading Culture Thrives

Springfield High School has broken its all-time library checkout record as students rediscover a love for reading. Through a schoolwide focus on literacy and the implementation of Book Love, classrooms are prioritizing daily reading and helping students find books they enjoy. With support from staff, including the ELA team, librarian Dani Schneider, and Dan Schieder’s efforts to bring in engaging titles, SHS is building a culture where reading is replacing phones and becoming a shared, contagious experience.

Springfield High School graduate Ethan Swan Snider was awarded $3,000 in scholarships to support his enrollment in the Diesel Technology program at WyoTech, where he will prepare for a career in the skilled trades. A standout student in SHS's Automotive and Diesel Pathway, Ethan's success highlights the impact of Career and Technical Education and the community partnerships that help students transition from high school to high-demand careers.

Springfield High School Students Earn National Recognition Through ACT PreACT Rising Stars Program

Springfield High School celebrated 77 students recognized through ACT’s national PreACT Rising Stars program this year, up from 45 students last year, highlighting significant growth in student achievement and college readiness. The program honors students who score among the top performers nationally on the PreACT 8/9 assessment and recognizes academic excellence across multiple achievement levels.
