It’s Spirit Week at SHS and the halls were filled with flannel-wearing students and teachers! Tomorrow is Pajama Day so take advantage of the one opportunity in the year to wear your PJs to school!
Wednesday will be “Stars and Stripes”
Wednesday is also the “Best of SHS Pep Rally”! Begins at 5:30 in the Silke parking lot.
Thursday is “Jersey Day”
Friday is “Spirit Day” – show your Miller Pride!
Friday night is our Homecoming Football Game against Marist at 7:00.
Saturday evening begins with the SHS Alumni Hall of Fame Induction in the Commons at 5:30.
Homecoming Dance is Saturday at 8:00. The theme is “Starlit Paradise”. Tickets ($8/single, and $12/couple) are on sale every day at lunch in the courtyard.
Teacher in-service is tomorrow, October 14, so there is no school for students.
In order to accommodate the “Every 15 Minutes” presentations, we will use the following bell schedules on Tuesday and Wednesday:

Hold on to your hats – Every 15 Minutes is coming to SHS next Tuesday and Wednesday (October 11 & 12)! If you haven’t heard about it, it’s a very powerful program staged by local authorities that is meant to educate teens about the potential consequences around drinking and driving. New Attendance/Tardy Policy begins on Monday, Oct 3rd. Listen for details in class today and tomorrow. Students will need a tardy slip to enter class after the bell rings and unexcused tardies will result in lunch detention. Thank you for helping your student make education a priority! Every class, on time, every day.
Freshman Family Night is coming up! Families with freshmen are invited to visit SHS on October 6, 5:00-6:00, to find out more about the school, their student’s classes, and meet some of the freshman teachers.
Reminder that tomorrow, Friday the 23rd, is an early release day for students. Classes end at 12:35 and lunch goes until 1:15.
