Springfield High School’s 2016-2017 school year begins September 7th for 9th graders, and September 8th for grades 10, 11, and 12. Before the first day, please plan on attending School Registration and Fall Sports Registration.
School Registration (all students) – Thursday, September 1, 2016
Registration packets will be available Monday August 29. This packet contains your student’s back to school information. Please review materials and bring signed forms to registration. On school registration day (September 1), please try to attend with your student so that any needed corrections can be made.
Fall Sports Registration – Tuesday, August 9, 2016 1:00 -6:00 pm
In order for your student-athlete to participate on the first day of practice for fall sports, (Football, Volleyball, Soccer, Cross Country, and Cheer) they must register to participate. Fall Sports Registration Night will be in the SHS foyer.
Please note: all sports participants must have had a documented physical within the last two years. For student-athletes new to SHS, transfers and/or in-coming Freshmen, you MUST bring 1.) a hard copy of a current physical (good for two years- should be available through your physician), and 2.) the most current copy of school grades (June 2016). Fall practices begin on Monday, August 15, 2016.
Sports registration fees are as follows:
Participation Fee: $150
Student Body Card: $30
Please Note: Any outstanding student fee and/or fines must be paid before athletes will be cleared to participate.
The OSAA requires all student athletes to be a student body member, so all fall sports participants are requested to pay for their Student Body Cards at fall sports registration.
Students must have passed a minimum of five (5) classes the previous grading period (including incoming 9th graders) with a 2.0 GPA. If a student does not meet these requirements they will need to see the Athletic Director, Audrea Shelley, for eligibility requirements.
