Springfield Theatre in collaboration with SHS Jazz proudly presents our mainstage play, Flowers for Algernon in the SHS Auditorium February 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 at 7:30pm.
“The eponymous Algernon is a laboratory mouse who has undergone surgery to increase his intelligence by artificial means. The story is told by a series of progress reports written by Charlie Gordon, the first human test subject for the surgery, and it touches upon many different ethical and moral themes such as the treatment of the mentally disabled.”
Flowers for Algernon features over 20 SHS students in this elaborate production. In addition to the cast, SHS Jazz has compiled the SHS Algernon Combo, directed by Christopher Holt, which provides live accompaniment throughout the play. Senior Chris Dickson is featured as Charlie Gordon and Kyler Deanda, Robert Robison-Miller and Quentin Noffsinger play the scientists. Junior Hannah Baehler is Alice.
